High-value iGaming traffic: how to evaluate audience quality
High-value iGaming traffic: how to evaluate audience quality

In iGaming, campaign performance continues well beyond the first registration.

For an operator, it is important to understand how many acquired users reach FTD, how much they deposit, whether they return with additional deposits, and how much value they generate over their lifetime.

These are the metrics we use at Toba Traffic to evaluate high-value traffic.

This approach is particularly relevant in Tier-1 GEOs, where acquisition costs are usually higher and campaign economics depend heavily on what happens after the first deposit.

That is why we focus on average deposit, Repeat Deposit Rate, LTV, LTV:CAC, and payback period.

What we mean by high-value traffic

High-value traffic refers to audiences that demonstrate strong economics after acquisition.

In our campaigns, the average deposit in these segments can reach $242.47 and above, depending on the product, GEO, and funnel.

Average deposit alone does not describe the full value of a player.

We also look at how often users return, how their behaviour changes over 7, 14, and 30 days, how LTV develops over time, and how quickly acquisition costs are recovered.

This makes traffic quality measurable.

How a campaign is built before the first FTD

Working with a high-value audience starts with understanding the product.

The team analyses the GEO, payment methods, offer, UX, bonus mechanics, limits, and the behavioural patterns the operator already sees in its own data.

These insights then feed into media buying.

1. Creatives built around audience behaviour

For high-value segments, it is important to understand which product characteristics influence a user's decision.

In one GEO, payment speed and available payment methods may matter more. In another, UX, limits, loyalty mechanics, or conditions for returning players may play a larger role.

That is why creatives are tested across different angles and messages.

After launch, we look at which concepts bring users with stronger downstream metrics: FTD, average deposit, repeat deposits, and LTV.

2. FTD data feeds back into media buying

The first conversions provide the initial information about a campaign.

The next layer appears once enough deposit behaviour data has accumulated.

For example, two creatives may show a similar CPA. A few weeks later, their audiences may differ significantly in average deposit, repeat deposits, and payback.

This data is fed back into the buying system.

Budget is gradually increased across the segments, GEOs, creatives, and sources that deliver the economics required by the operator.

3. Scaling is based on accumulated data

A high-value campaign builds its own performance history over time.

The team learns which audiences are more likely to reach FTD, which creatives generate stronger cohorts, and where LTV:CAC supports additional budget.

This accumulated data makes scaling more predictable.

Which metrics show the real value of traffic

For high-value traffic, we look at several layers at the same time.

CPA / FTD cost shows how much it costs to acquire a first-time depositor.

Average Deposit helps assess the value of the player's first deposit.

Repeat Deposit Rate shows how many players return with additional deposits.

LTV measures the long-term value generated by an acquired cohort.

LTV:CAC shows the relationship between player value and acquisition cost.

ROI and payback period help evaluate the overall campaign economics and how quickly the investment is recovered.

Together, these metrics provide a much clearer picture of the audience and show which sources create the most value for the operator over time.

Why the same CPA can lead to different results

Imagine two traffic sources with a CPA of $180.

At the ad account level, they look almost identical.

Thirty days later, the picture may be very different.

One cohort may have an average deposit of $90, with part of the audience returning several times and LTV continuing to grow.

Another cohort may show weaker deposit activity.

That is why scaling decisions are based on the behaviour of acquired users after conversion.

This is especially important in Tier-1 GEOs, where higher acquisition costs require sufficient player value over time.

Scaling high-value traffic

High-value traffic can also be scaled.

Doing so requires enough data, stable cohorts, and clear economics.

The team gradually increases budget across the segments where the required metrics remain consistent:

  • average deposit;

  • Repeat Deposit Rate;

  • LTV;

  • LTV:CAC;

  • ROI.

As spend increases, we continue monitoring the behaviour of new cohorts. If the economics remain within the target range, the campaign moves to the next level of scale.

This turns high-value acquisition into a systematic, data-driven process where each new wave of traffic adds more information for the next decision.

Traffic quality becomes clear after the first deposit

FTD remains an important point in the funnel.

For Toba Traffic, the next stage of analysis starts from there.

We look at how much an acquired user deposits, how often they return, how much value they generate over time, and how quickly their acquisition pays back.

This allows us to build high-value campaigns around the actual economics of the product and gradually scale the audiences that fit the operator's goals.
